Bystronic

About Bystronic

Bystronic was founded in 1964 in Germany under the name Bystronic Maschinen AG. The company specialized in glass processing and laser cutting. The name of the company is a combination of the three founders’ names: Byland, Schneider, and Trosch.

With the start of the new millennia, the company found itself opening new manufacturing and distribution centers across the world including Brazil, Russia, Poland, China, Mexico, Canada, and more. Product range expanded to bending with press brakes and Bystronic even won an award for its fully automated Bending Cell at EuroBLECH. Laser products advanced from 1000 to 6000 watts and the product line continued to expand with a new fiber laser, complete process automation with automatic nozzle charger and nozzle centering, and more. Fiber laser became a big focus as these cutters expanded to a 12-meter-format, as well as added versatile loading and unloading automation for fiber laser cutting.

MORE ABOUT BYSTRONIC
The company released its first laser cutting system in 1984 at 500 watts of laser power, and the following year the company released a plasma cutting system. By 1988, Bystronic had created a software for programming parts, as well as developed the world first complete system for flat part processing using waterjet cutting.

At the beginning of the 1990s, the company began to expand further into Europe, founding additional locations in Italy and Scandinavia and later in Singapore for their first Asian division. The 90s proved good times for the company as well as they developed the first laser cutting system with individual part stacking, production in larger numbers, as well as the introduction of the Bysprint 3015. This machine was the first alternative to punching, known as “a quantum leap in respect of machine dynamics.”

Popular Bystronic Models
Bystronic Laser Cutting Systems / Bystronic ByStar Fiber
The Bystronic fiber laser cutting systems are high speed laser cutters, that are designed optimally for cutting anything between thin to thick sheet metal from material such as: steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other non-ferrous metals such as copper and brass. These machines offer 15 kilowatts of laser power to cut up to 0.59” thick mild steel.
