EWS Tool Technologies was founded in 1960 in Uhingen, Germany, and has grown into a global leader in precision static and driven tooling systems for CNC lathes and turning/milling centers. In 2008, EWS expanded its international footprint by acquiring Command Tooling Systems, a respected American toolholder manufacturer based in Ramsey, Minnesota. Today the combined EWS-Command operation (recently rebranded as EWS USA) serves as the North American hub for manufacturing, sales, service, and tool reconditioning, employing approximately 70 people at the Ramsey facility. EWS-Command tool fixtures are manufactured to AT3 or better shank taper quality and are known for precision, rigidity, and long service life. EWS also distributes URMA precision boring tools in North America.
