The company started out in 1949 as a bicycle rim shop and over the last 40 years the company has expanded to multi-divisional internationally-oriented company. By the 1950s the company had expanded to polishing and electroplating, as well as welding. The company was still producing bicycle rims, but by the end of the decade they had begun to produce rear brake drums, flywheels, and more.
In 1961, the company expanded their product line into locomotive rims. Progressively through the decade the company began manufacturing its own high-speed lathes, planer milling machines, and radial drilling machines. While still producing bike parts, the company opened up an engineering division in the 1970s which allows the company to focus more on CNC’s as well. By 1978, Femco had produced the first Precision Horizontal Boring and Milling Machines.
By the 1990s and early 2000s, Femco had begun to specialize in medical beds, and opened a new golf club division, becoming the largest golf club manufacturer in Asia. Horizontal Milling and Boring Machines became some of the most well known in Asia, and have won several awards. Femco continues to provide high quality products and services across the world.
