Elenix ST300 Manual Small-Hole EDM Drill

The Elenix ST300 is a manual small-hole EDM drill — a so-called "hole popper" — built by Elenix Inc. of Japan and sold/serviced in the US by Current EDM. It's the kind of single-purpose machine that earns its place in any tool-and-die or mold shop that needs starter holes for wire EDM threading, broken-tap removal, cooling-line drilling, or any deep precision hole through hardened tool steel and exotic alloys where conventional drilling fails. Per Current EDM's published specifications, the ST300 features 12.0" X-axis travel, 8.0" Y-axis travel, 16.0" Z-axis travel, and 10.5" W-axis (electrode guide) travel over an 11.8" x 11.8" granite worktable. The granite table accepts up to 1,000 lbs / 454 kg of fixturing, supports electrode diameters from 0.1 mm to 6.5 mm with optional guides, and accommodates electrodes up to 17.7" long. Drilling depth runs up to 300x the electrode diameter — deep enough to push through any practical workpiece thickness. Operation is fully manual via a servo-controlled head, with an integrated 3-axis DRO, on/off-time and amperage gauges, a separate chiller cabinet, wall-mounted transformers, and a flushing-equipped work tank. The ST300 is Elenix's reliable, manual answer to small-hole EDM drilling — the platform shops choose when CNC capability isn't worth the cost and complexity, and when build quality matters more than feature count. Compared to budget hole-popper alternatives — entry-level imports and lighter-duty clones — the Elenix ST300 ships with a granite worktable for thermal stability, a generous travel envelope on both X-Y and Z-W axes, and the same dielectric and servo-control philosophy Elenix has refined across its CNC-equipped JT300, CT300FX, and CT300FXK siblings. For a shop that runs a wire EDM and needs a dedicated, simple hole-popper to feed it — without committing to CNC programming or paying for capability it won't use — the ST300 is the platform Elenix designed specifically for that role.

About This Machine

The Elenix ST300 puts manual EDM hole-drilling back on the shop floor without the cost of a CNC platform — popping starter holes through hardened tool steel and exotic alloys where conventional drills bind, break, or wander off-center. With 12.0" / 8.0" / 16.0" X/Y/Z travels over an 11.8" granite worktable, a servo-controlled head, electrode diameters from 0.1 to 6.5 mm, and the Elenix build quality earned in Japanese tool-and-die shops, this is a simple, reliable platform for the hardest hole you'll ever drill.
