The AES SIGMA 7 Edgebander is a full-finish edgebanding machine built for production cabinet and furniture shops running melamine, veneer, and PVC tape on a wide range of panel sizes. The processing line carries 2 motor pre-milling for clean panel edges, a 4-roll pressure section, an EVA hotmelt glue pot, a pneumatic guillotine for tape cutting, 2 motor end trimming, top and bottom milling units for flush edges, radius scraping units, flat scraping units, 2 buffing units, and a bottom grooving saw unit. The machine handles edgebanding thickness from 0.4 to 3mm and panel thickness from 8 to 60mm, with a minimum panel length of 120mm and minimum panel width of 70mm. Working height is 37.4 inches (950mm), conveyor speed is 49-65 FPM (15-20 m/min), and total installed power is 22 kW on 7 bar shop air.
Compared to older single-feature edgebanders that only glue and rough-trim, the SIGMA 7 runs the full premium-finish edgebanding cycle in one pass - pre-mill, glue, trim, corner-round, top / bottom finish-trim, scrape, buff, and groove. That eliminates the hand-scraping, manual trimming, and buffing operations that limit throughput on lower-end edgebanders, and the bottom grooving saw unit handles the back-side groove operation that some shops still run on a separate machine. For shops running daily edged-panel production, the SIGMA 7 is positioned as a one-line answer that covers the full edge-finishing envelope.
