The ShopSabre PRO-408 is a production-class 5 x 8 CNC router built on a precision-milled tube-steel frame, and it has become a staple in cabinet, sign, and job shops that need industrial rigidity without an industrial footprint. This 2023 machine carries a 60" x 100" x 12" cutting envelope with 16" of Z travel, driven by anti-backlash ball screws on X, dual Y, and Z with AC brushless digital servo motors and amplifiers on all four axis motors, riding 25 mm precision linear guide rails for +/-.001" positional repeatability at rapids to 1,200 ipm. Cutting is handled by a 3 kW 4 HP HSD 18,000 RPM electric spindle with an ER25 collet and Mitsubishi VFD, with spindle on/off and RPM both controllable from G-code through the ShopSabre WinCNC industrial controller and its dedicated desktop PC. Workholding is a phenolic table top with aluminum T-slots on 8" centers, a full clamp kit, five pneumatic pop-up reference pins for instant sheet alignment, and a ShopSabre F4 single-phase four-zone vacuum system rated 570 CFM at 10.69" HG.
