The 2014 Haas EC-1600YZT is a large-envelope CNC horizontal machining center built for shops cutting heavy steel, stainless, and large mold-class parts that need a full-stroke 64" X / 50" Y / 40" Z work envelope on a single setup. The CAT 50 geared-head spindle delivers 30 HP / 22.4 kW peak with a 2-speed gearbox for high-torque heavy roughing at low RPM and 6,000 RPM top end for finishing — paired with the integrated 30" 4th-axis rotary platter rated to 10,000 lb, this machine handles weldments, large fixtures, and continuous-rotation prismatic parts that simply can't be set up on a smaller HMC. Compared to the smaller Haas EC-1600 base model, the YZT designation steps the machine up significantly: the "Y" extends Y-axis travel to 50", the "Z" carries the full 40" Z stroke, and the "T" adds the integrated 4th-axis rotary platter — letting this configuration handle parts and fixturing that the base EC-1600 (with its shorter Y travel and no integrated rotary) simply can't accommodate.
