2023 Makino A81NX CNC Horizontal Machining Center

The 2023 Makino A81NX is a high-performance CNC horizontal machining center built for heavy-duty production environments demanding precision and throughput. Equipped with a 60 HP, 10,000-RPM BT50 spindle, this machine delivers the torque and speed needed for aggressive cutting in steel, cast iron, and aluminum. With generous travels of 35.40 inches on the X and Y axes and 40.20 inches on the Z axis, the A81NX handles large, complex workpieces with ease. The dual 630mm pallet system with 0.001-degree indexing enables continuous production by allowing operators to load one pallet while the other is being machined, dramatically reducing cycle times. A 60-tool chain-type automatic tool changer ensures minimal interruption between operations, and rapid traverse rates of 1,969 IPM keep non-cutting time to a minimum across all axes. The A81NX represents a significant advancement over the previous A81M model, most notably in spindle technology and overall rigidity. Where the A81M offered a maximum spindle speed of 8,000 RPM, the A81NX pushes that to 10,000 RPM while maintaining the same robust BT50 interface, enabling higher surface speeds and improved finish quality on a wider range of materials.
