2013 Haas EC-400PP CNC Horizontal Machining Center

The 2013 Haas EC-400PP CNC Horizontal Machining Center is a production-class HMC built around a CAT 40, 12,000 RPM, 30 HP Vector Drive spindle with 20 in travel on all three axes, 1,000 IPM rapid traverse, and a full 4th-axis function on the table at 0.0001 deg resolution. It pairs a 6+1 station rotary pallet pool with a 70-station side-mount twin-arm ATC (1.6 sec tool change), 8 sec pallet change, 1,000 PSI Chip Blaster high-pressure thru-spindle coolant, Haas tool and part probing, chip auger, chip conveyor, and a remote jog handwheel.

Compared to the older Haas EC-400 single-pallet HMC, the EC-400PP wraps the same base machine in a rotary pallet pool plus a much larger ATC, letting the spindle cycle pallets unattended while the operator preps the next setup at the load station. The 30 HP Vector Drive spindle, 1,000 PSI thru-spindle coolant, and probe package give it the rigidity and process control of a much more expensive bridge mill at well below bridge-mill cost.
