2020 Doosan NHP-5000 CNC Horizontal Machining Center

The Doosan NHP 5000 is a 500 mm twin-pallet CNC horizontal machining center with a reputation for rigidity and unattended productivity that has made it a staple in aerospace, energy, and high-mix production shops. This 2020 machine offers travels of 28.7 x 28.7 x 34.6 inches (X by Y by Z), a CAT40 Big Plus spindle turning up to 15,000 RPM driven by a 50 HP motor, and rapid traverse rates of 2,362 IPM to keep air-cutting time to a minimum. It runs a Fanuc 31i-B5 CNC control and carries a 120-tool drum-type magazine, a two-pallet automatic pallet changer with 500 x 500 mm pallets rated to 1,100 lb each, and LNS MH250 rear-discharge chip conveyor.

Compared with the previous-generation Doosan NH 5000 and earlier HP-series horizontals, the NHP 5000 is a clear step up: a more rigid bed and column, faster 60 m/min rapids, a higher-speed spindle option, a larger tool magazine, and the current-generation Fanuc 31i-B control with faster block processing and a bigger operator display. Where the older NH/HP machines were built around slower rapids, smaller magazines, and previous-generation controls, the NHP 5000 pairs a stiffer structure with a modern control and a two-pallet changer to deliver more finished parts per shift. The result is a meaningfully more productive horizontal platform for shops moving heavy, repeatable, or multi-face work off their vertical machining centers.
