The Mazak FH-4800 is a horizontal machining center whose reliability and straightforward design have made it a familiar sight in production shops machining multi-face prismatic components. This 1998 Mazak FH-4800 CNC horizontal machining center delivers X / Y / Z travels of 22 x 24 x 22 inches and a two-pallet automatic pallet changer with 400 mm (15.75 x 15.75 inch) pallets, so parts can be staged on one pallet while the other is in the machining area. The CAT 40 taper spindle is rated for 12,000 RPM from a 30 HP spindle motor, and the 40-tool automatic tool changer is designed to support multi-operation jobs without constant tool swaps. Control is the Mazatrol 640M PC-Fusion CNC, offering Mazak's conversational Mazatrol programming on a PC-based platform, and the machine is equipped with a Mayfram chip conveyor.
