The Toyoda FH1000SX is a large-capacity 4-axis CNC horizontal machining center from JTEKT, built around a rigid heavy-cutting design that has made it a trusted choice for shops machining large castings, housings and structural parts. This 2021 FH1000SX carries a 39.37 x 31.5 inch (1,000 x 800 mm) pallet with an automatic pallet changer and X/Y/Z travels of 62.99 x 55.11 x 72.83 inches (1,600 x 1,400 x 1,850 mm). The model is rated for workpieces up to 70.86 inches (1,800 mm) in swing diameter and 62.99 inches (1,600 mm) tall, with a standard pallet load rating of 6,600 lb (3,000 kg), an envelope sized for aerospace, energy, defense and heavy-equipment work such as gearbox housings, valve bodies and structural frames. The B-axis is a full NC rotary table with 360,000 positions (0.001 deg), designed for true 4-axis contouring and multi-face work in a single setup. Cutting is handled by the optional 15,000 RPM high-torque CAT 50 spindle, served by a 120-tool magazine, and JTEKT rates rapid traverse at 2,126 ipm (54 m/min) on X, Y and Z. The machine runs a Fanuc 31i-MB control with JTEKT's TOYOPUC touch-screen HMI and an 8 MB memory upgrade, and is equipped with high-pressure through-spindle coolant, flood coolant and a mist collector.
The FH1000SX belongs to JTEKT's SX generation of Toyoda horizontals, which followed the earlier FH-S series and the older FH100 1,000 mm-class machine. The SX design brings dual ballscrew drive on the Y and Z axes and a Meehanite cast iron base for rigidity under heavy cuts, 2,126 ipm (54 m/min) rapids on all three linear axes, a 15,000 RPM high-torque spindle option running on ceramic bearings, tool storage that scales up to 330 positions, and the Fanuc 31i-MB control generation with JTEKT's TOYOPUC touch HMI. On this unit those platform upgrades are paired with a full 360,000-position B-axis and a 120-tool magazine, giving a buyer a larger, faster and more capable horizontal than the machines it followed and a direct path to running big multi-sided parts in fewer setups.
