2009 Mazak Multiplex 6200Y CNC Turning Center

The Mazak Multiplex 6200Y, built in 2009, is a high-throughput twin-spindle CNC turning centre with symmetrical design. It features dual eight-inch Kitagawa B-208 hydraulic chucks (main and sub), a two-inch bar capacity, and supports up to a 47-inch distance between centers. X-axis travel is nine-and-a-half inches, Y-axis ± 2 inches, and Z-axis both heads at approximately 17.25-inches. The machine is equipped with two twelve-position turrets, live tooling capable of 4500 rpm milling, full C-axis and Y-axis machining, and LNS Quick-Load Servo bar feeding, all controlled by the intuitive Mazatrol 640T CNC. High-pressure coolant at 213 psi, parts catcher and conveyor, plus overload detection and turret air blast, complete the robust package.

Compared to conventional single-spindle lathes, this model offers simultaneous bi-spindle machining and twin turret operations that greatly reduce cycle time. Ideal for complex turned-plus-milled parts and extended-shaft applications, it operates in one setup with minimal interruption. Y-axis drilling and off-center milling capability further expand its capability, reducing secondary operations and maximising yield.
