The 2017 Tsugami BO38T is a high-performance, sliding headstock Swiss CNC lathe engineered for multi-process, tight-tolerance production. It supports bar diameters from 0.315?inch to 1.496?inch and maximum cutting lengths up to 9.84?inches per chucking, driven by a robust 14.75?HP main spindle and 7.4?HP sub-spindle, both capable of 5,000 and 7,000?RPM respectively. Featuring a Fanuc 31i-B CNC control, optional cross drilling on both front and rear tool posts, live turret tooling up to 8,000?RPM, and extensive tapping and milling capability, the BO38T is also fully outfitted with a 2000 PSI S2 high-pressure coolant pump, Mist Buster filtration, chip conveyor, fire suppression, and both Edge FMB barfeed and unloader systems.
Compared to the Tsugami B0325 series, the BO38T enhances machining capacity with larger bar support, superior power, additional cross and rotary drilling units, and more complex backworking options via sub-spindle configurations. While the B0325 handles simpler multi-op bar work, the BO38T dominates in advanced aerospace, medical, and high-volume component manufacturing, reducing secondary operations through simultaneous dual-end machining.
