2016 Takisawa LA-250YS CNC Lathe w/ Sub-Spindle and Barfeeder

The 2016 Takisawa LA-250YS is a nine-axis, dual-spindle lathe that turns 14.56-inch diameters by 29-inch lengths, transfers work across a 30.6-inch gap and finishes back-end features with a 15-horsepower 10-inch sub-spindle, all in one setup. A 30-horsepower built-in A2-8 main spindle holds 3-inch bar through a 4-inch bore, accelerates to 3 500 RPM and teams with a 15-station servo turret whose driven tools reach 5 000 RPM for cross-drilling, tapping and end-milling. The Y-axis swings ±2.8-inch to -2.0-inch, letting cutters hit off-centre features without custom fixturing, while C-axis indexing to 0.001-degree locks either spindle for rigid milling accuracy. Rapids hit 787 IPM on X and Z so the 32.7-inch carriage clears chips fast; high-pressure coolant at the turret nose keeps tools alive in Inconel, and an oil chiller stabilises preload for tight tolerance bores. An Edge Servo 80 barfeeder, Firetrace suppression, Tri-Mist collector and parts conveyor build a lights-out work-cell, while Fanuc 32i-B with Tool Eye touch-setter auto-updates wear offsets.

Compared with the LA-250Y base model — single spindle, twelve-station turret, 2.9-inch bar and 14.5-inch turn capacity — the YS adds a 10-inch sub-spindle, 15-station turret, extended 32.7-inch Z stroke and dual-head work transfer that eliminates secondary chucking yet both share identical 23.6-inch swing and 3 500 RPM spindle to keep fixtures interchangeable.
