2023 Haas ST-20Y CNC Lathe w/ Barfeeder

The 2023 Haas ST-20Y combines six-axis agility with the footprint of a mid-sized turning centre. An A2-6 spindle whips its 8.3-inch hydraulic chuck to 4 000 RPM and channels twenty horsepower through a 3.50-inch bore, so two-and-a-half-inch bar stock feeds straight from the Haas bar-feeder. X travel of 8.4 inch, Y travel of ±2 inch and Z travel of 22.5 inch let the 12-station BMT turret rough, finish and cross-mill an eleven-point-seven-five-inch flange without repositioning. C-axis indexing in 0.001 degree steps drives live tools at 6 000 RPM, tapping P-20 cavities and engraving QR codes in one cycle. The machinist looks on via a fifteen-inch LCD, while Wi-Fi, Ethernet and HaasConnect push cycle data to the office in real time. A programmable hydraulic tailstock, high-torque live tooling, oil-skimmer and chip conveyor keep long runs stable; the conveyor drop finished work into totes.

Compared with Haas’s standard ST-20—no Y-axis and manual door—the ST-20Y adds ±2 inch Y travel, C-axis milling, a bar-feeder interface and auto-door, yet both machines share identical 22.5 inch Z stroke and 4 000 RPM spindle. That means existing soft jaws, tool offsets and post-processors migrate seamlessly while the Y-axis version halves secondary-op handling.
