2024 Star SR-38B 10-Axis CNC Swiss Lathe w/ Barfeeder

The 2024 Star SR-38B is a 10-axis Swiss-type CNC lathe built to deliver unmatched productivity in complex part manufacturing. With a bar capacity of 1.5 inches and a 320 millimetre (12.59 inch) headstock stroke, this high-precision machine supports both front and rear tool systems including 5 spindle sleeve holders. Its main spindle delivers up to 7000 RPM with a peak output of 14.75 horsepower, complemented by 6000 RPM driven tools on both front and rear stations. The machine is powered by a FANUC 31i-B5 CNC control and comes fully equipped with an Edge Patriot 338 magazine-style bar feeder, parts conveyor, and chip conveyor.

Compared to earlier 7-axis Swiss turns with limited tool capacity and fewer driven options, the SR-38B provides greater flexibility and faster cycle times due to simultaneous multi-axis machining. The rear X3-axis tooling adds operational depth for complex geometries, while the supplied set of driven tools, sleeves, and guide bushings further streamlines setup and changeover in demanding production environments.
