2009 Doosan Puma 240 CNC Lathe

The Doosan Puma 240, produced in 2009, is a high-performance horizontal CNC turning center designed for both production and job shop environments. Featuring a 10" hydraulic chuck and A2-8 spindle nose, the machine accepts bar material up to 3.0" and offers a generous turning diameter of 14.0" and turning length of 20.5", ideal for a wide range of industrial components. The spindle is powered by a 25–30 HP motor, reaching speeds up to 3,500 RPM, with torque and thermal stability suited for steel, aluminum, and stainless alloys. Axis travels include 8.5" in X and 21" in Z, paired with a 12-station turret for fast, bi-directional indexing.

The structure employs a slant-bed casting with hardened box ways, optimized for rigidity and long-term repeatability under heavy loads. The Fanuc 0i-TC CNC control provides intuitive programming, canned cycles, rigid tapping, and macro support. Coolant systems, chip conveyor, and tailstock options are commonly included, further boosting its suitability for high-mix or long-run production.
