2018 Doosan Puma 5100XLB CNC Heavy-Duty Big-Bore Lathe

The 2018 Doosan Puma 5100XLB is a heavy-duty big-bore CNC lathe built for the kind of long, oversized turning work that overwhelms standard 2-axis lathes. Configured with a 24-inch hydraulic Samchully HCH24 chuck on a 6.6-inch bore, 26-inch max turning diameter over a 120-inch (Z = 124") max turning length envelope, 14 inches of X travel, a 1,500-RPM spindle driven by a 60-HP motor, and a 10-station turret, the 5100XLB is staged for long shafts, oilfield mandrels, mill rolls, and weldments most 2-axis lathes can't physically fit. Equipped with a tailstock, the base for a programmable steady rest (per the seller, the rest itself ships with the seller's replacement machine), chip conveyor, tool presetter, and Fanuc i Series control.

Compared to the older Doosan Puma 480 series and the Puma 4100 platform, the Puma 5100XLB extends both swing and turning length significantly — 120 inches of turning length is roughly double the 480/4100 envelope — while adding the higher-horsepower 60-HP spindle and the larger 24-inch big-bore chuck for parts the older Puma series simply couldn't grip. The XLB designation also brings the extended-bed configuration over the standard Puma 5100 layout, expanding what a single CNC lathe can do without subcontracting long-shaft work.
