2004 Haas SL-20T CNC Turning Center

The 2004 Haas SL-20T is a 2-axis CNC turning center built around a 20 HP main spindle running to 4,000 RPM with an 8 inch hydraulic chuck and a 2 inch through-spindle bar capacity. The 10-station turret, 23 inch maximum swing, 10.3 inch maximum turning diameter, 24 inch maximum turning length, and equipped tailstock open the door to shaft work, hub blanks, fixture pins, hydraulic fittings, and short-batch production parts that fit inside the SL-20 envelope without a dedicated bar-feed cell. With the Haas CNC control on board, the platform reads as a job shop staple rather than a specialty cell, and the parts and service network for Haas across the US makes it easy to keep this unit on production duty for years.

Compared to the older Haas HL-series turning centers it succeeded in this size class, the SL-20T brings tighter spindle drive integration, improved turret indexing, updated Haas control hardware, and a refined cast iron base for stiffer cutting under heavier feeds.
