2020 Okuma LB-4000EX-II/1500BBMY CNC Big-Bore Live-Tool Turning Center

The 2020 Okuma LB-4000EX-II/1500BBMY is a big-bore, Y-axis CNC turning center built for long, large-diameter work, with a 4 inch bar capacity, 15 inch chuck, 18.9 inch maximum turning diameter, and 59.84 inch machining length between centers. Driven by the Okuma OSP control with Hi-G high-gain servos, it pairs a 4,200 RPM main spindle with live milling tooling, a programmable Y-axis, an NC turret, and an NC tailstock for turning, milling, and off-center work on shafts and long bar in one setup. Touch-setter tool setting and Y-axis gauging support accurate, repeatable production on heavier components.

Compared to a standard LB-3000-class turning center, the LB-4000 steps up to a larger swing, a bigger through-bore, and the longer 1500 mm bed, so it can take longer shafts and heavier bar that a mid-size lathe cannot pass or support. Adding the M and Y options turns it from a straight turning center into a multi-axis machine that mills flats, drills cross-holes, and works off-center without a second operation.
