2018 DMC DL6G CNC Gang-Type Slant Bed Lathe

The DMC DL6G is a 2-axis CNC gang-type slant bed lathe built for fast, repeatable small-part production, the kind of compact bar-fed machine that runs fittings, pins, and connectors all day with minimal operator attention. This 2018 machine swings 19.29 in (490 mm) over the bed, turns up to 6.69 in (170 mm) diameter and 9.45 in (240 mm) length, and feeds 1.73 in (44 mm) bar through a 6,000 RPM spindle with a 15 kW (20 HP) motor and a 6 in hydraulic thru-hole chuck with soft jaws. The FANUC 0i-TF control with an 8.4 in LCD runs the gang-type tooling layout, and the machine carries a parts catcher, chip conveyor, full flood coolant with a 120 L tank, work light, chuck foot switch, and complete interlock package. The factory-installed LNS Alpha 552 12 ft automatic magazine bar loader includes three guiding channel sets, a two-position hydrostatic front stabilizer, rotating sleeve, remnant retract, and an 18.5 in Z-axis retraction system - a complete lights-out bar feeding package, with one set of manuals included.

Compared with the turret-equipped machines in DMC's DL turning center line, the G-designation gang-type configuration of the DL6G eliminates turret indexing entirely - tools are fixed on the cross slide, so tool-to-tool time drops to a rapid move and cycle times on small parts fall accordingly. The slant bed design also improves chip flow and rigidity over older flat-bed gang lathes, holding tighter repeatability across long bar-fed runs. For a shop feeding high-volume small parts, the DL6G with its integrated LNS bar feeder is a ready-made production cell in a fraction of the floor space a turret lathe and loader would take.
