2011 Mazak Quick Turn Nexus 200-II MSY CNC Turn-Mill Center

The Mazak Quick Turn Nexus 200-II MSY is a multitasking CNC turning center with a reputation for dependable done-in-one machining that made the Quick Turn Nexus series one of the most common turn-mill platforms in North American job shops. This 2011 machine turns up to 14.96 in (380 mm) diameter and 20.1 in (511 mm) length with 2.56 in (65 mm) bar capacity, driven by a 5,000 RPM, 35 HP main spindle and a 6,000 RPM sub-spindle, both with full C-axis. The 12-station turret carries live tooling to 4,500 RPM with Y-axis off-center capability, and the Mazatrol Matrix Nexus 2 control programs the whole process conversationally or in EIA/G-code. The machine is equipped with 6 in Kitagawa 3-jaw hydraulic chucks on both spindles, a Renishaw automatic tool eye, high pressure coolant, a Royal Filtermist FX5275 mist collector, a chip conveyor, and foot pedal controls, running on 208V 3-phase power.

Compared with the first-generation Mazak Quick Turn Nexus 200 MSY, the -II generation stepped up from the Mazatrol 640T Nexus to the Mazatrol Matrix Nexus 2 control, bringing faster program processing, finer simultaneous C- and Y-axis interpolation, and expanded conversational multitasking support. Mazak also stiffened the -II series castings and improved thermal stability, holding tighter tolerances across long production runs than the earlier machines.
