The Mazak Integrex i-400ST is a 5-axis multi-tasking turn-mill that combines a high-powered turning center and a full-function machining center in one platform, built for complete machining of complex medium-to-large parts in a single setup. This 2017 machine features a 26.9 inch maximum swing, a 4.4 inch main spindle bore with 4.0 inch bar capacity, a main turning spindle to 3,300 RPM, a second turning (sub) spindle to 4,000 RPM, and a B-axis articulating milling spindle to 12,000 RPM with 30 HP for full simultaneous five-axis cutting. It is equipped with a lower turret for balanced and secondary turning, a 72-tool magazine, high-pressure and temperature-controlled coolant, an automatic chip auger, and a GL-500 robotic gantry loader for automated part loading and unattended production.
Compared to the earlier Integrex 400-IV and e-400 multi-tasking machines it succeeded, the i-400ST introduced the more rigid Integrex i platform, a faster Mazatrol Smooth-class control, a stronger B-axis milling spindle, and tighter thermal stability for unattended accuracy, improving cycle times and finish on complex five-axis parts. With its integrated second turning spindle, lower turret, and gantry automation, the i-400ST completes more operations in one clamping than its predecessors, cutting handling and setups for a meaningful productivity gain on high-value aerospace, medical, and energy components.
