2020 Okuma LT-3000EX Twin Star CNC Turning Center

The Okuma LT-3000EX Twin Star is a twin-spindle, twin-turret CNC turning center known for the rigidity, thermal stability, and lights-out productivity that make it a workhorse for high-volume, complex turned and milled parts. This 2020 unit pairs two 40 HP, 4,200 RPM spindles (A2-8 nose, 3.58 in bore, 3.15 in bar capacity) with dual 16-station live-tooling turrets, a Y-axis, and full C-axis (0.001 deg indexing) for done-in-one machining. It offers 21.65 in swing, 13.78 in max turning diameter, 36.61 in turning length, 10.04 in X travel, and 36.61 in Z travel, with live tooling to 6,000 RPM (9.5 HP). The machine runs Okuma's THINC OSP-P300L control with IGF and is equipped with a Renishaw RLP40 probe, auto gauging, Collision Avoidance, a 1,000 PSI coolant system, through-spindle air blast, a chip conveyor, an LNS Servo 80 S2 bar feeder, and a Royal QG80 quick-change collet chuck.

Compared with the earlier Okuma Twin Star LT3000 (pre-EX) generation, the LT-3000EX brings the faster, more capable THINC OSP-P300L control, improved rigidity and thermal compensation, and productivity features such as Collision Avoidance and advanced gauging. The result is a current-generation twin-spindle platform that consolidates turning, milling, and drilling across two spindles and two turrets - cutting cycle times and part handling on demanding, high-mix production work.
