2019 DMG Mori NTX 1000 CNC Turn-Mill Center

The DMG Mori NTX 1000 is an integrated turn-mill center with a reputation for rigid, precise complete machining that has made it a staple in medical, aerospace, and high-precision job-shop environments. This 2019 unit is configured as a full simultaneous 5-axis mill-turn platform, combining a main turning spindle and a synchronized counter (sub) spindle with a B-axis, direct-drive milling spindle that swivels +/-120 degrees for true multi-face machining in a single setup. It carries a 20,000 RPM HSK-A50 compactMASTER tool spindle, a Y-axis for off-center milling and drilling, full C-axis positioning, and a 10-station live lower turret for combined turning and milling. The work envelope covers a 16.9 in. maximum turning diameter, 31.5 in. maximum turning length, and X / Y / Z travels of 17.9 / 8.3 / 31.5 in., with a 2.56 in. (65 mm) bar capacity for chucked and bar-fed work. A 76-tool magazine, Renishaw RMP600 probing, an in-machine traveling robot / gantry loader, and a fully integrated IEMCA Master 80F bar feeder round out a machine built for unattended, high-volume production of complex parts.

Compared to the original NTX 1000 (1st Generation), this 2nd Generation NTX 1000 is a meaningfully stronger machine, not just a newer one. DMG Mori upgraded the milling capability with a higher-output, direct-drive B-axis spindle for better simultaneous 5-axis surface finish and rigidity, expanded the automatic tool magazine capacity to keep more tooling resident for complex jobs, and enlarged the working area while keeping one of the smallest footprints in its class. Improved thermal displacement control through cooling-oil circulation and a stiffer bed with linear motion guides deliver tighter, more repeatable tolerances than the first-generation platform, while the modern Fanuc CELOS control and automation interface streamlines multi-channel programming across the main spindle, counter spindle, and turret.
