2022 DMG Mori NLX3000Y/1250 CNC Live-Tool Turning Center

The DMG Mori NLX3000Y/1250 is a large-capacity live-tool turning center engineered for high-rigidity, heavy-duty turning with the vibration damping and thermal stability the NLX series is known for across job shops and production floors. This 2022 machine turns up to 16.9 inches in diameter and 49.6 inches in length, with a 12-inch chuck on an A2-8 spindle nose, a 3.5-inch (91 mm) bar capacity, and a 30 HP main spindle to 3,000 RPM. X/Y/Z travels of 11.0 / +/-2.4 / 53.9 inches, a full C-axis, and 10,000 RPM live tooling on the 12-station turret let it mill, drill, and cut off-center features in one setup, and it is equipped with a chip conveyor and the ERGOline touchscreen running DMG Mori CELOS / MAPPS control.

Compared with the Mori Seiki NL3000 it succeeds, the NLX3000Y/1250 is a substantial upgrade: DMG Mori widened the bed and box ways for greater rigidity and thermal stability, integrated a more capable Y-axis and C-axis for true milling, and replaced the NL-generation control with the modern ERGOline touchscreen and CELOS interface for faster setup and shop-floor connectivity. The result is tighter, more repeatable multi-axis machining and higher sustained metal-removal rates than the NL machines it replaces. For a shop stepping up from an older NL or a two-axis lathe, this Y-axis NLX folds turning and milling into one setup - more spindle uptime, fewer fixtures, and better part-to-part consistency.
