2016 Ganesh Cyclone-32 CS CNC Swiss-Type Turning Center

The Ganesh Cyclone 32 CS is a 7-axis CNC Swiss-type turning center built without a guide bushing, a design that has made it a practical and dependable choice for job shops running complex turned parts in short to medium volumes. This 2016 machine handles 1.25" (32mm) bar as standard and 1.375" with an adapter, driven by a 10 HP main spindle turning to 6,000 RPM through a five-bearing cartridge with a 1.456" bore and a Brown & Sharpe #22 / Traub A-32 collet nose. A 5 HP, 6,000 RPM sub-spindle with 1.25" collet capacity and a 1.080" pass-through takes the part for back-working, and dual C-axis positioning on both spindles supports milling, drilling and cross-work. Tooling is gang-mounted across 6 OD turning positions and 5 ID / back-working positions, backed by 4 ER-20 cross-slide live tools at 4,000 RPM and 2.0 HP plus 3 ER-20 front-slide live tools at 4,000 RPM and 1.0 HP, for 18 stations in all. Travels run X 7.28" / Y 19.29" / Z 6.50" on the main slide and X 11.53" / Z 11.61" on the sub, with rapids of 1,181 IPM (30 m/min) across X, Y and Z. Dual 50 PSI coolant pumps feed the main and sub spindles from an 80-gallon tank, and the machine sits on an 8,000 lb, 101" x 68" x 80" footprint running 220V, 3-phase, 60 Hz power.

Against the earlier Ganesh Cyclone 32 GT gang-tooled lathe it grew out of, the Cyclone 32 CS is a substantially more capable machine. The 32 GT is a 2- to 3-axis single-spindle gang platform: parts come off the machine still needing a second operation and a second setup elsewhere on the floor. The 32 CS adds a full 5 HP sub-spindle with its own X and Z slides, a second C-axis, a 19.29" Y-axis on the main slide, and seven live tool stations split between the cross slide and the front slide, so the part that took two machines on a 32 GT comes off complete in one handling. Deleting the guide bushing is the other meaningful change: unlike conventional Swiss machines, the 32 CS runs standard unground bar stock and machines to a short remnant, which cuts material cost on every bar and removes the bushing setup from every job change. Add 1,181 IPM rapids and dedicated coolant delivery to both spindles and the 32 CS turns a gang-lathe operation into a one-hit screw-machine cell - a meaningfully better machine than the Cyclone that came before it, not merely a newer one.

About This Machine

Stop quoting 32mm Swiss work you have to send down the street - this Ganesh Cyclone 32 CS runs the part complete, main spindle to sub, across seven axes with live tooling on both slides and no guide bushing to set. Simple to run and steady under load behind a 10 HP 6,000 RPM main spindle and a 5 HP sub, it turns a gang-lathe job into a one-hit screw-machine cell your floor can build a production schedule around.
