2006 Doosan Puma-MX2500ST CNC Multi-Tasking Turn-Mill Center

The Doosan Puma MX2500ST is a multi-tasking turn-mill center with a reputation for done-in-one part completion that has made it a staple in high-mix precision machining shops. Built on a Fanuc 18i-TB control, it combines a main spindle and an opposed sub-spindle with a full B-axis universal milling spindle, giving the machine true turning, milling, and drilling capability in a single setup. The main spindle turns to 5,000 RPM on a 35 HP drive with an A2-8 spindle nose, 2.99 inch spindle bore, and 2.6 inch bar capacity, while the sub-spindle runs to 4,000 RPM for backworking finished components without a second operation. The B-axis universal milling spindle reaches 10,000 RPM and draws tools from a 40-position Capto C6 automatic tool changer, and a 12-position HSK-E25 lower turret adds simultaneous turning-tool capacity. Chuck sizes are 10 inch on the main spindle and 8 inch on the sub-spindle, and an integral chip conveyor supports extended unattended running.

Compared to the earlier Doosan Puma 2500SY, which delivered sub-spindle and Y-axis turning with live tooling confined to the turret, the MX2500ST is a meaningfully more capable machine rather than simply a newer one. Its dedicated B-axis universal milling spindle and 40-position Capto C6 tool changer bring genuine multi-axis milling to turned parts, a capability the turret-only 2500SY cannot match, and the tilting B-axis lets the milling spindle approach the workpiece from compound angles for complex prismatic features. The 10,000 RPM milling spindle, C-axis contouring on both the main and sub-spindle, and the addition of a full lower turret alongside the milling head let a shop complete parts that previously demanded a lathe plus a separate machining center. For a buyer, that translates to fewer setups, tighter accuracy from single-clamping completion, and the ability to quote multi-operation work that single-function turning centers have to pass on.

About This Machine

Turn, mill, and drill complete parts in one setup - this 2006 Doosan Puma MX2500ST pairs a full B-axis milling spindle with an opposed sub-spindle and Y-axis, so complex components come off the machine finished instead of waiting on a second operation. Backed by the trusted Fanuc 18i-TB control and Resell CNC's straightforward buying process, it is a dependable way to bring done-in-one turn-mill capacity onto your floor and take on the multi-operation jobs single-spindle lathes have to turn away.
