2022 DN Solutions Puma 3100XLY CNC Live-Tool Turning Center

The DN Solutions Puma 3100XLY is a large-capacity CNC turning center with a reputation for rigid, dependable heavy-duty turning that has made the Puma line a staple in energy, oil-and-gas, and general job-shop production. Built on a Fanuc i Series Plus control with EZ Work conversational programming, this extra-long-bed configuration pairs a 4.52 inch big-bore spindle and a Kitagawa 3-jaw power chuck with a 12-station turret carrying live tooling, plus a Y-axis and C-axis spindle so milled and off-center features are finished in the same setup as the turning work. The machine offers a 33.46 inch swing over bed, 16.54 inch maximum turning diameter, and an 83.66 inch maximum turning length supported by an SMW Autoblok / LNS SLU-32 self-centering steady rest on a programmable slide, with X and Z travels of 11.54 and 86.22 inches, Y-axis travel, rapid traverse to 1,181 ipm, and a 29 HP main drive. It is equipped for production with an LNS Turbo hinge-belt chip conveyor, a Mist-Fit MF-550 mist collector, coolant system, and work light.

Compared to the earlier Doosan-branded Puma 300LY, which ran a previous-generation Fanuc control on a shorter bed, the DN Solutions Puma 3100XLY is a meaningfully more capable machine rather than simply a newer one. The current-generation Fanuc i Series Plus control with EZ Work brings faster processing and a more intuitive shop-floor interface than the older Puma control, while the extended bed stretches usable turning length well past that of a standard Puma for long shafts and multi-part bar work. Combined with integrated Y-axis live tooling, a big-bore spindle, and an on-board self-centering steady rest, the upgrade lets a shop complete longer and more complex turned-and-milled parts in one clamping that an older short-bed Puma would have to split across setups or machines.
