2010 Hurco TM8 CNC Lathe

The Hurco TM8 is a 2-axis slant-bed CNC turning center with a reputation for compact rigidity and straightforward operation that has made it a staple in small-batch and job-shop turning environments. This 2010 example is built on a solid one-piece cast-iron slant-bed foundation and configured with an 8-inch 3-jaw hydraulic chuck, a 2.44-inch spindle bore and roughly 2-inch bar capacity, running up to 4,800 RPM off a 15 HP AC spindle motor through an A2-6 spindle nose and delivering up to about 114 ft-lb of spindle torque. The work envelope covers 8-inch X-axis and 20-inch Z-axis travels, a 12-inch maximum turning diameter, 18.8-inch maximum turning length, 21.6-inch swing over the bed, 12.6-inch swing over the cross slide and roughly 23-inch distance between centers, with a 10-station turret handling tool changes and rapid traverse rates of 750 IPM in X and 945 IPM in Z. The machine runs Hurco's Max control with WinMax lathe software for both conversational and NC (G-code) programming, on 230V, 3-phase, 60Hz power, in an approximately 8,500 lb package measuring roughly 116 x 91 x 80 inches.

Because the TM Series was Hurco's entry into turning, the TM8 carries the same field-proven control DNA that shops already trusted on Hurco's machining centers (the Ultimax/WinMax conversational platform) now built into a dedicated slant-bed lathe. For a shop already running Hurco mills, that means one control language across the floor: operators move between milling and turning without relearning a system, and the conversational programming that made Hurco machining centers productive drives fast setups and short-run efficiency on the TM8. Hurco engineered the TM Series around a small footprint, an integrated chip management system and an affordable price specifically to make small-batch turning profitable. Paired with a one-piece cast-iron base for rigidity and a compact footprint that fits where a full production lathe won't, the TM8 delivers dependable 2-axis turning, WinMax programming flexibility and Hurco reliability at a used-machine price - a smart, low-risk way to add or expand turning capacity.
