The Okuma LB3000EX-II is a heavy-duty horizontal CNC turning center from Okuma's Space Turn line, built on a thermally stable box-way bed for hard, accurate turning in production and job-shop work. This 2021 MY example is a full mill-turn machine: it pairs Okuma's OSP-P300LA control with Y-axis, C-axis, and live tooling driven to 6,000 RPM, so a shop can turn, mill, drill, and tap off-center features complete in a single setup. The A2-6 spindle spins to 5,000 RPM on a 30 hp drive through a 3.15-inch bore, feeding a 12-station V12 turret, and the machine swings 22.83 inches over the bed and turns up to 16.14 inches in diameter. A tailstock, automatic tool presetter, and chip conveyor round out a turning center built for dependable, in-tolerance production.
Compared with a base two-axis LB3000 EX II, this MY-configuration unit is a far more capable machine: it adds a Y-axis, C-axis, and 6,000-RPM live tooling, turning a straight turning center into a single-setup mill-turn center that finishes off-center and prismatic features without moving the part to a mill. Against the previous-generation LB3000 EX, the EX II brings Okuma's newer OSP-P300 control platform with a larger, faster program environment and Thermo-Friendly thermal-deformation control for steadier accuracy across long production runs. For a shop taking on complex turned-and-milled parts, that means fewer setups and tighter part-to-part consistency than a plain two-axis lathe can hold.
