2017 Mazak Integrex i-100S B-Axis CNC Mill-Turn Machine with Sub-Spindle

The Mazak Integrex i-100S is a compact multi-tasking turn-mill center with a reputation for flexibility and dependable done-in-one performance that has made it a staple in job shops, aerospace, medical and oil and gas component production. This 2017 machine combines a main turning spindle and an opposed second turning spindle with a B-axis milling head, so a part can be turned, milled, drilled, tapped and contoured on both ends without leaving the machine. The milling spindle runs Capto C6 tooling fed by a 36-tool automatic tool changer, giving the capacity to keep roughing, finishing and specialty tools loaded for multiple jobs. Programming and operation run on the Mazak Mazatrol Smooth CNC control, which supports both conversational Mazatrol and EIA/ISO G-code programming for 5-axis multi-tasking work. The machine is equipped with high-pressure thru-spindle coolant for drilling and chip evacuation in deep features, a chip conveyor and a parts catcher for unloading finished parts from the second spindle.

Compared with the earlier Integrex 100-IV and 100-IVS, the i-100S represents Mazak's redesigned Integrex i generation. Where the older machines ran Mazatrol Matrix-era controls, the i-100S pairs its multi-tasking hardware with the Mazatrol Smooth platform, bringing a faster, more intuitive operator interface, improved 5-axis programming and smoother high-speed contouring. The i-series also refined the B-axis milling head and machine structure for better rigidity and accessibility in a small footprint, making the i-100S easier to set up and run than its predecessors. For a shop that wants to eliminate second operations and run complex parts complete, it is a meaningfully better machine, not just a newer one.
