The Doosan Puma TT1300SYYB is a twin-spindle, twin-turret CNC turning center with a reputation for dependable, high-volume bar work that has made the Puma TT line a staple in production job shops. This 2022 unit runs a Doosan-Fanuc i Series Plus control and pairs a 6,000 RPM, 20 HP (15 kW) main spindle with an A2-5 nose, 6 inch chuck and 2.0 inch bar capacity against an opposed 6,000 RPM, 15 HP sub-spindle with 1.7 inch bar capacity and 21.3 inch of sub-spindle travel. Upper and lower 12-station BMT45P turrets (24-position index, 0.12 sec index time) each carry a Y-axis and live tooling rated at 6,000 RPM and 5 HP, with full C-axis on both spindles for milling, drilling and tapping. Capacity covers a 6.9 inch max turning diameter, 6.9 inch swing and 4.7 inch max turning length, with X 5.3 inch, Y 3.1 inch and Z 20.9 inch travels per turret and rapids of 1,181 ipm (X) and 1,575 ipm (Z). The machine is equipped with an LNS Quick Load Servo 80 S2 bar feeder, an LNS ChipBlaster V2-80 high pressure coolant system, an LNS Turbo hinge belt chip conveyor and a mist collector, and runs on 220V 3-phase power at a weight of approximately 17,857 lbs.
Compared with the Puma TT1300SY and TT1300SYY, the TT1300SYYB is the big-bore step up in the TT1300 range. Where those models use a 5 inch main chuck, an 11 kW main spindle and a smaller bar capacity, the SYYB moves to a 6 inch main chuck, a 15 kW (20 HP) main spindle with 116 Nm of torque, and a 2.0 inch main bar capacity, while keeping the Y-axis on both turrets that sets the SYY versions apart from the single-Y TT1300SY. That combination lets one compact footprint take larger bar stock, heavier roughing cuts and full done-in-one milling on both ends of the part. For a production shop, the result is a meaningfully more capable machine, not just a different model: more bar range per setup, more spindle power for tougher materials, and the twin-spindle, twin-Y-axis layout that removes secondary operations from the schedule.
