2018 Tornos MultiSwiss 6x16 Automatic CNC Lathe

The 2018 Tornos MultiSwiss 6 x 16 Automatic CNC Lathe is a six-spindle, 14-axis precision production center designed for ultra-high-speed machining. It accommodates bar stock from 0.16 to 0.63-inch in diameter, producing parts up to 1.57-inch long with 2.76-inch remnants. Each spindle runs up to 8000 RPM and produces 7.5 horsepower, while the synchronized pickoff spindle mirrors that performance for back-end operations. The main spindle offers 1.97-inch of Z travel, with the pickoff slide extending 5.9-inch. The machine provides 18 total tool positions, including two for back operations—one being a live tool station. Its oil-cooled spindle system and 238-gallon (900-liter) reservoir maintain optimal temperature control, paired with a 62-PSI (4.3-bar) cutting oil pump.

Compared with conventional Swiss-type or single-spindle machines, the MultiSwiss 6 x 16 represents a dramatic increase in throughput and efficiency. With Y- and C-axis capability, live tooling, and Fanuc 30i CNC control, it performs turning, drilling, and milling simultaneously across six spindles. The included 11-shelf barfeeder extension accommodates up to 25 bars per shelf, complemented by a hydraulic loading unit, pneumatic part separator, and high-pressure coolant system with paper filtration. An oil-mist extractor, chip conveyor, and tool presetter further ensure automated, clean, and consistent production in demanding industrial environments.
