2015 DMG Mori DMU50 5-Axis CNC Vertical Mill

The 2015 DMG Mori DMU 50 is a precision-engineered five-axis vertical machining centre built for high-performance multi-axis production. It offers 19.7 inches of X-axis travel, 17.7 inches of Y-axis travel, and 15.7 inches of Z-axis travel over a 24.8-inch by 19.7-inch rotary trunnion table capable of swivel from –5° to +110° in the B-axis and full 360° in C-axis, with 0.001° indexing resolution. Powered by a CAT 40 direct-drive spindle spinning up to 18,000 RPM and driven by a 20 to 46 HP speedMASTER motor, it delivers dynamic cutting performance ideal for aerospace, medical, and tooling industries. The machine includes high-pressure through-spindle coolant, chip conveyor, air-blast, and BLUM infrared tool measuring system.

Controlled via a Siemens 840D-SL CNC interface with CELOS—or optionally HEIDENHAIN or FANUC MAPPS—the DMU 50 supports true simultaneous five-axis machining with rapid traverse rates of 1,181 inches per minute on all linear axes. The machine comes equipped with a sixty-station vertical chain tool changer (upgradeable to 120), precise measuring probe systems, rigid tapping, and optional pallet and automation packages.
