2023 Haas UMC-500SS CNC Vertical Mill

The 2023 Haas UMC-500SS (Super Speed) is a 5-axis simultaneous CNC vertical machining center built for high-speed contouring, multi-face machining, and part reduction in complex geometries. Designed for aerospace, medical, and precision toolmakers, the SS variant includes faster spindle speeds, high-speed rapids, and a 50+1 side-mount tool changer for uninterrupted production. Axis travels are 24" (X), 16" (Y), and 16" (Z), combined with a powerful rotary trunnion capable of ±120° A-axis tilt and full 360° C-axis rotation, enabling full 3+2 or simultaneous 5-axis strategies. The 15,000 RPM inline direct-drive spindle delivers precision with minimal vibration, powered by a 30 HP vector drive motor.

Equipped with a Renishaw wireless probing system, 300 PSI through-spindle coolant, 95-gallon coolant tank, mist collector, and chip conveyor, this UMC-500SS arrives ready for high-precision production with minimal operator intervention. Haas’ NextGen control, combined with Dynamic Work Offsets (G254) and Tool Center Point Control (G234), streamline the setup of multi-face parts on the tilting platter. All this is fitted into a space-saving footprint ideal for cell layouts or lights-out machining environments.
