The 2021 Doosan DVF-5000 is a fully simultaneous 5-axis vertical machining center, purpose-built to handle the demands of intricate, multi-sided part geometries and tight tolerances. With X/Y/Z travels of 24.6" / 17.7" / 15.7", the machine comfortably accommodates parts up to 21.7" in diameter and 17.7" in height, with a sturdy 882 lb capacity rotary table measuring 19.7" in diameter. Driving its high-performance rotary axes, the machine’s B-axis tilt travels a generous +110° / -30°, while the C-axis rotates continuously through 360°, both powered with 20 RPM indexing speed.
The high-speed 12,000 RPM Big Plus CAT40 spindle offers 24.8 HP, expandable to nearly 30 HP depending on configuration, and is supported by 87 ft-lbs of torque, ensuring metal removal is both efficient and precise. Tooling flexibility is excellent thanks to the 60-position automatic tool changer, which accommodates tools up to 11.8" long, 3.1" in diameter, and weighing up to 17.6 lbs each. Cooling and chip control are equally robust with 300 PSI thru-spindle coolant, a Hennig disk-filtering conveyor, and dual Renishaw probing systems: an RMP600 spindle probe for in-cycle part verification and an OMP toolsetter for accurate, automated tool calibration.
Controlled by a Fanuc 31iB5, this unit offers lightning-fast processing for complex toolpaths, seamless tool centre point control, and full 5-axis simultaneous interpolation. Despite its compact footprint (114" x 87" x 114") and weight of 16,534 lbs, the DVF-5000 is a beast of capability, with positioning and repeatability to ±0.0002" and ±0.00008", respectively.
