The 2017 Haas TM-1P is a 10-tool CAT-40 toolroom vertical mill that gives start-ups the power of a full VMC without the six-figure price tag. Travels of 30-inch X, 12-inch Y and 16-inch Z cover mould bases and fixtures, while a 6 000 RPM vector belt-drive spindle delivers 7.5 HP for confident roughing. A 10-station umbrella changer, high-speed-machining code, and a programmable coolant nozzle keep tools cutting and chips flying, and the wireless Renishaw probing suite measures workpieces and cutters in under thirty seconds to guarantee first-part accuracy. Built-in rigid tapping, a chip auger and a half-horsepower high-flow pump clear holes and pockets fast, while the automatic air gun blasts fine swarf out of deep cavities.
