The 2021 Haas VF-2SS Super-Speed Vertical Mill delivers production-level speed in a compact footprint, featuring 30-inch X, 16-inch Y, and 20-inch Z travels. This model is powered by a 15000 RPM inline direct-drive spindle (upgrade over the standard 12k)—driven by a 30 HP vector motor—and paired with a 30+1 high-speed side-mount tool changer, enabling tool changes in just around 1.8 seconds. Equipped for automation, the machine includes Haas NextGen control, Wireless Intuitive Probing (WIPS), through-spindle coolant, chip auger, auto air blast, programmable coolant, thru-spindle coolant (300 PSI), auxiliary coolant filter, and 4th-axis wiring for the HRT-210 rotary table. Additional features include rigid tapping, high-speed machining with look-ahead, coordinate rotation & scaling, media display, and comprehensive safety tools like power surge protection and early power-failure detection.
