2017 Brother Speedio M140X2 5-Axis CNC Vertical Machining Center

The 2017 Brother Speedio M140X2 is a compact yet powerful 5-axis mill/turn machining center featuring 7.87-inch X, 17.32-inch Y, and 12.01-inch Z travels, supported by A-axis tilt from +120° to -30° and full 360° C-axis rotation. Its milling spindle runs at up to 16000 RPM, with a turning spindle capable of 2000 RPM, and the machine uses a 22-station BT-30 tool magazine with 0.9-second tool changes. Rapid moves on the linear axes reach 1969 IPM, making it efficient for both high speed milling and lighter turning/drilling/tapping tasks.

Compared to simpler 5-axis VMCs without turning capability, the M140X2 adds the extra axis of rotary turning, expanding versatility into mill/turn applications. Its high spindle speed, fast tool changes, and BT-30 tooling make it ideal for high volume or high-precision components in small packages, reducing the need for multiple setups and raising throughput for multi-face and mixed-operation parts.
