2007 Haas MDC 500 CNC Mill w/ Pallet Changer

The 2007 Haas MDC-500 CNC Mill is a dual-pallet vertical machining center designed for high-volume and lights-out production. It features 20 x 14 x 20-inch travels with a 20 x 12.75-inch pallet, supporting up to 700 pounds per station. A 30-horsepower inline direct-drive spindle reaches 8100 RPM with 90 foot-pounds of torque at 2000 RPM, delivering balanced performance for heavy cuts and high-speed finishing. The 24+1 side-mount automatic tool changer completes tool swaps in 2.2 seconds tool-to-tool and 4.8 seconds chip-to-chip. Rapid traverse rates of 1000 IPM on all axes and cutting feeds up to 833 IPM maximize throughput, while pallet exchange occurs in only 4.7 seconds to keep spindle downtime minimal.

Compared with Haas’s standard Mini Mill and VF-series machines, the MDC-500 offers a dedicated dual-pallet system, allowing fixture loading and part unloading while machining continues on the alternate pallet. This design dramatically improves uptime, enabling near-continuous cutting and making the machine especially attractive for contract manufacturing, automotive, and aerospace shops where throughput is critical.
