2024 Kitamura MedCenter 5AX CNC Vertical Machining Center

The 2024 Kitamura MedCenter 5AX is a compact 5-axis vertical machining center designed for high-precision, high-speed production in medical, aerospace, and mold-making applications. It features a 30,000 RPM direct drive spindle with HSK-E40 tooling, paired with Kitamura's Arumatik Mi control for smooth simultaneous 5-axis motion. The trunnion-style A/C axis configuration provides a -120 to +120 degree A-axis and full 360-degree C-axis rotation on a 6.7-inch round table, enabling complex multi-sided machining in a single setup. This unit is equipped with a 120-tool chain-type ATC upgraded from the standard 40-tool capacity, a Renishaw NC4+ Blue F115C non-contact tool setter, spindle oil cooler, and a Raptor SP1882 tombstone with four Raptor RWP019SS vises for production-ready fixturing. Rapid traverse rates reach 2,362 IPM across 10 x 13 x 13 inch X/Y/Z travels.

Compared to earlier Kitamura 5-axis platforms like the MyCenter 4XiF or the standard MedCenter5X, the MedCenter 5AX delivers meaningful improvements in spindle performance and control technology. The 30,000 RPM direct drive spindle eliminates belt-driven vibration and produces higher surface finishes at speed, a critical upgrade over belt-driven spindles on older models. The Arumatik Mi control offers faster processing speeds and more intuitive programming than the previous Arumatik Advanced generation. The expanded 120-tool ATC on this unit also far exceeds the standard 40-tool capacity, significantly reducing setup time in high-mix production environments where tool variety is essential.
