The Haas VF-2SS is a Super-Speed variant of the VF-2 platform that has quietly become one of the most trusted, most supported CNC vertical machining centers in the American job-shop market — a machine shops choose because it is simple, serviceable, and reliably productive year after year. This 2021 example delivers travels of 30 inches on X, 16 inches on Y, and 20 inches on Z on a 36" x 14" T-slotted table, driven by a 12,000-RPM inline direct-drive CT40 spindle backed by a 30 HP vector drive and coupled with 1,400 IPM rapid traverse on all three axes. Tool changes are handled by a 24+1 pocket side-mount tool changer for fast chip-to-chip performance on production runs.

Against the earlier standard Haas VF-2 and first-generation Super-Speed VF-2SS models from the 2012–2015 era, this 2021 unit is a meaningful upgrade.
