2020 Haas UMC-750 5-Axis CNC Vertical Machining Center

The 2020 Haas UMC-750 is a 5-axis universal vertical machining center built for shops that need true simultaneous 5-axis capability without leaving the Haas ecosystem. The integrated dual-axis trunnion — a 19.7" (500 mm) diameter rotary platter mounted on a tilting trunnion — gives full A and C axis motion under program control, opening up complex aerospace, defense, medical, and mold-class part geometries that simply can't be cut on a 3-axis machining center. Travels of 30" X / 20" Y / 20" Z, paired with a 15,000 RPM spindle, a 50-position side-mount tool changer, through-spindle coolant, and an in-machine tool length measurement system, make this a production-grade VMC ready for high-mix, complex-geometry work right out of the gate.

Compared to Haas's earlier 5-axis approach — typically a VF-series VMC fitted with a Haas T5C bolt-on rotary — the UMC-750 is a purpose-built 5-axis machine with the trunnion engineered into the bed itself rather than installed on top of a 3-axis table. That integrated geometry boosts rigidity, expands the simultaneous 5-axis work envelope, and enables OEM-calibrated RTCP (rotation tool center point) right from the factory, where bolt-on rotary configurations required shop-floor calibration and gave up rigidity at the table-rotary interface. The 50-position side-mount tool changer and 15k spindle option on this configuration also push it well past Haas's typical mid-size VMC throughput, making it the production-floor anchor for aerospace and defense cells.
