2006 Hurco VM-1 CNC Vertical Machining Center

The 2006 Hurco VM-1 is a compact three-axis CNC vertical machining center built around a CAT-40 spindle, swing-arm tool changer, and a one-piece cast iron base. The 26 inch X / 14 inch Y / 18 inch Z work cube combined with an 8,000 RPM spindle and Hurco's conversational CNC control lets a single operator move between conversational programming and full G-code work without changing platforms. Smaller than a full-size VMC but with the rigidity Hurco built for job shops, the VM-1 fits in a corner of the floor and earns its place there.

Compared to the older Hurco BMC-series machines it succeeded, the VM-1 brings a tighter footprint, a stiffer one-piece cast-iron frame, and a more modern conversational and G-code control on a single screen with built-in graphic verification, upgrades that take a job shop from one-job-at-a-time setup work to confident lights-on production. The VM-1 also standardizes on CAT-40 tooling across the line, opening up a broader inexpensive tooling pool than legacy Hurco platforms could draw from.
