The Smart SM1370-50 is a box-way CNC vertical machining center with a reputation for rigidity and dependable heavy-duty cutting that has made Smart Machine Tool's SM series a workhorse in mold, die, and general production shops. This 2023 machine delivers travels of 51.18 x 27.56 x 25.98 inch over a 57.09 x 27.56 inch T-slot table, driven by a CAT50 BIG Plus dual-contact spindle rated to 6,000 RPM and a 35/30 HP spindle motor for sustained, high-torque material removal. A 30-tool automatic tool changer, hardened and ground box ways on all axes, and a rigid one-piece base round out a platform built for roughing, drilling, and finishing larger workpieces in a single setup.

Compared to Smart's lighter linear-way SV-series machines, which run a CAT40 spindle, the SM1370-50 steps up to a CAT50 BIG Plus interface and full box-way construction - delivering the rigidity and damping needed for heavy roughing and interrupted cuts that lighter linear-way machines cannot sustain.
