2018 DMG Mori DMU 40 eVo Linear CNC 5-Axis Vertical Machining Center

The 2018 DMG Mori DMU 40 eVo Linear is a compact 5-axis universal machining center built for simultaneous 5-axis precision work, driven by linear motors on the X, Y, and Z axes and a swivel rotary table that delivers a -5 to +110 degree B-axis range with C-axis rotation up to 1,200 RPM. Its 24,000 RPM HSK-A63 motor spindle, 60-pocket chain-type tool magazine, infrared touch probe, and laser tool measuring system make it ready for complex, tight-tolerance parts in plastics, aluminum, and steel. High pressure through-spindle coolant, a swarf conveyor, and Siemens 840D sl CELOS control round out a fully-equipped, robot-ready cell.

Compared to the ballscrew-driven DMG Mori DMU 40 eVo, the eVo Linear replaces the X/Y/Z ballscrews with direct linear-motor drives, eliminating backlash and pushing rapid traverses up to 80 m/min for faster cycle times and finer surface finishes. Paired with cooled guideways and the dynamic package, the linear version holds tighter positioning accuracy over long simultaneous 5-axis moves than the standard eVo, making it the stronger choice for high-precision contour and mold work.
