2023 Haas VF-2SS CNC Vertical Machining Center

The 2023 Haas VF-2SS is a Super Speed 40-taper vertical machining center built for fast, high-volume production, pairing a 12,000 RPM inline direct-drive spindle with a 30 HP motor and 1,400 ipm rapid traverses. It offers 30 x 16 x 20 inch travels, a 30-station high-speed side-mount tool changer, Renishaw WIPS wireless probing, thru-spindle coolant plumbing, and 4th-axis wiring already in place for rotary work. Running the Haas Next Generation Control, it is a current-generation machine ready for tight-tolerance prototype and production parts.

Compared to the standard Haas VF-2, the SS model swaps the 8,100 RPM geared spindle for a 12,000 RPM inline direct-drive spindle and steps rapids up from 1,000 to 1,400 ipm, with a faster side-mount tool changer in place of the standard umbrella unit. The result is noticeably shorter cycle times and better finishes on the same proven 30 x 16 x 20 inch platform, making the VF-2SS the stronger choice for shops pushing higher throughput.
