2021 Haas UMC-500 CNC 5-Axis Vertical Machining Center

The 2021 Haas UMC-500 is a compact 5-axis universal machining center built for shops that need true simultaneous 5-axis capability without giving up floor space. Travels of 24 x 16 x 16 inches pair with an integrated 2-axis trunnion rotary table for 3+2 and full simultaneous work on complex, multi-sided parts. The 30 HP, CT40 inline direct-drive spindle is supported by 300 PSI high-pressure through-spindle coolant, a 30+1 side-mount tool changer, and the Haas control with widescreen monitor, Dynamic Work Offsets, and Tool Center Point Control. This machine is heavily optioned, including the Wireless Intuitive Probing System, High-Speed Machining, 64 GB of expanded program memory, an LNS Chip Blaster high-pressure coolant system, a Henning chip conveyor, and a Mist Away MA700 mist collector.

Compared to the larger UMC-750 that launched the Haas universal machining center line, the UMC-500 brings the design improvements Haas developed for the UMC-1000 into a tighter footprint aimed at smaller, high-value parts. Where early UMC-750 builds shipped with the previous-generation Haas control, this 2021 UMC-500 runs the newer Haas control with Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and HaasConnect remote monitoring, and includes the Wireless Intuitive Probing System as standard equipment rather than an add-on. For shops stepping up from 3-axis VMC work, it delivers the same dependable Haas platform with far fewer setups per part.
